To Our Sponsor Partnership,
The New Hampshire Sheriff’s Association would like to announce a fundraising event being held
on September 18, 2020 at the Indian Mound Golf Course. The Sheriffs are asking for your consideration of a
monetary or merchandise donation, to help make the 10th Annual fundraising event a success.
The monies raised at this event will go toward scholarships awarded annually from the NHSA through
each of the ten counties. With this event, we have been able to award $600.00 in scholarships to each of the 10
Counties, for a total up to $6,000.00 in Scholarship monies. We have been able to do this from the generosity of
individuals and businesses that have supported and sponsored this event. As this event grows, we would like to
be able to increase the scholarships awarded to each of the Counties to disperse.
The Sheriff’s will continue to include in this event the Memoriam of Sheriff Michael W. Downing. Sheriff
Downing passed away in April 2015 from his battle with cancer. He had served as the Rockingham Sheriff from
2011 to 2015. Sheriff Downing was an extremely accomplished individual having been a NH State Trooper, Salem
Police Officer, NH State Representative, NH State Senator and Minority Leader. He also served in the 82nd Military
Police Company and the 82nd Airborne US Army. Beyond all of the dedication as a public servant, Michael
Downing was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to a whole lot of people.
Please consider sponsoring in some way or registering to join us at the event, so that we can continue to
assist high school graduates with their higher learning.
